About Out Youth Memphis

Our Youth Memphis (OYM) is a Youth Leadership and Empowerment Program with 501c3 status, and a minority-owned nonprofit organization founded in 2012 and incorporated in 2018.

Our mission is to guide Memphis' youth to be effective leaders and compassionate humanitarians as they take charge of their life pursuits.

OYM strives to empower our youth so they may be heard and so they may have a say in the ever-changing structure, stability, and successes of both their lives and the progression of the city that they call home.

With collaboration with entities throughout Shelby County, OYM intends to arm our youth and their families with leadership skills, an empowering mindset, workforce training, civic responsibility, financial literacy, and other essential community resources and wrap-around services to assist in the development of our youth and help them transition into adulthood and become effective members of society.

OYM aims to move Memphis forward by reaching back

into the lives of Memphis’ youth – OUR YOUTH.

OYM is an all-inclusive youth organization and does not discriminate based on age, color, disability, gender identity and/or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.
